Govt to take political parties on peace strategy in Karachi: Pervaiz Rashid

ISLAMABAD, Aug 31 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said that government would take all political parties on board on peace strategy in Karachi. The federal government was providing all kind of cooperation to the province for curbing criminal activities in the biggest city of the country, he added.

Talking to a private TV channel, Rashid said that PML-N government would not interfere in the affairs of Sindh government.
He blamed former regimes of dictators responsible for terrorism incidents in the country. He said that continuous democratic process was needed to resolve all the issues including terrorism being faced by the country.
To a question, he said that cabinet meeting would take final decision regarding steps for peace in Karachi, adding that the Prime Minister would hold meeting with political parties and businessmen of Karachi in this regard.
He said that all political parties wanted strict action against the criminals without any discrimination to ensure writ of the government. The political parties should support surgical operation in Karachi, he added.
He condemned the sectarianism incident in Pakistan, adding that people should show tolerance for peace.
To another query, the minister said that the government would evolve an anti-terrorism policy that would also be owned by all the political parties.
