Load shedding will end by 2017: Abid Sher

Six places have been confirmed for installation of nuclear power plants, the minister said. 

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has claimed that electricity load shedding will end by 2017.


Addressing a seminar here on Wednesday, Abid Sher Ali asserted that the government is working on short-term and long-term power projects to completely eradicated load shedding by 2017.

He said the government is exploring all possible avenues to resolve the energy crisis under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif s leadership.

Abid Sher Ali said that the government was focusing on optimum development of renewable sources of energy particularly hydel, coal, wind, solar and biomass.

Pakistan can generate 60,000mw of electricity, he added.
