National Security Plan to ensure protection of every citizen: Nisar

ISLAMABAD Aug 21 (APP): Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday said upcoming National Security Plan will ensure protection of every citizen of the country. Responding a Calling Attention Notice,Nisar said,the plan will have two dimensions.It will comprise the internal security (counter-terrorism strategy) and national security strategy that will also keep in view the international repercussions.


“First draft of the plan is ready. We shall first discuss it at the government level and finalize it. I assure the members to seek their guidance on national security plan,” he said in response to a question by MNA Ms Munaza Hasan.
Answering another query about time frame for announcement of this plan,the minister said, it is a sheer piece of paper but will be comprehensive strategy encompassing the problems of last 12 years.
“We will also ensure that the document so prepared is properly implemented.It will be a wide ranging plan and cover all issues to ensure protection of every citizen including the minorities,” he added.
Explaining about the terrorist attack in Bara Kahu, Chaudhry Nisar said,the attack was conceived in North Waziristan but local people extended support although these people educated, living here since five to seven years and have no militancy background.
He said security agencies have arrested five out of eight suspects and three accused were on large, belong to North and South Waziristan and did not enter the settled area.
Nisar said, the attackers had a plan to hit Eid congregation but failed. Therefore, he had a second plan to attack the mosque.
He said the attacker belongs to Chiniot, a city from Punjab and when his friends and family members were investigated, they were not found involved in militancy.
He said this incident brought to fore that those people were used who had no link with militancy and are educated. Second these people used the latest technology like email and the equipment prepared by themselves with buying the parts from local market. Some other evidences have also been gathered which cannot be disclosed at this time for the sake of an ongoing investigation.
