ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP): National Bank has so far received 10,000 application forms under Prime Minister Youth Business Loans Programme all across the country, a Spokesman of the bank said. “Out of 10,000 application forms, the highest number of applications have been received from Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Sind, Balochistan, Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan respectively”, Syed Ibne Hassan Spokesman NPB told APP on Thursday.
He informed that among the loan-seeking candidates, intermediate level were the highest followed by under matric, matric, graduates and masters levels. Hassan said that out of total 10,000 applications, 88 percent were male while 12 percent were female.
He said agriculture related business loans applications were the highest among the applicants.
He said that NBP’s total loan portfolio was Rs.27 billion in 2011 which has now increased to Rs.60 billion with less then 5 percent Non Performing Loans (NPLs).
This portfolio would help increase GDP to over 2-3 percent, create employment opportunities to the people and reduce poverty, he added. He said that agriculture related businesses by the youth would also help boost the sector in the country.
